|Tips for navigating the OAARSN website|
|Tip 1||There are two
basic ways to navigate our website:
|1.||Our Navigator Windows that are activated by clicking on the red category buttons that appear at the bottom of most pages (including this page). Tips 2 and 3 below provide help navigating our site via our Navigator Windows .|
site is organized into five major categories. Each of these major
categories is accessed by clicking on the corresponding
red category button that appears at the bottom of most pages.
Clicking on the red category button opens a Navigator
Window, showing you all the locations (i.e. links) within
our site in the category of interest.
Category 1. Autism Information (includes information summaries about diagnoses, symptoms, types of autism, treatments and therapies) is accessed by clicking on this category button:
Category 2. Autism-Related Websites (includes links and commentary on sites with autism-related content) is accessed by clicking on this category button:
Category 3. Communications Area (includes a Bulletin Board, a Discussion Area, and an Events Calendar) is accessed by clicking on this category button:
Category 4. Organizations / Services (includes information, particularly relevant for Ontario, on organizations and services for adults with autism) is accessed by clicking on this category button:
Category 5. Unique Resource Documents (includes research news; reports and newsletters on adult autism issues; needs surveys; service models; family and individual accounts) is accessed by clicking on this category button:
Clicking on any of the five red category buttons described in Tip 2, opens the category's Navigator Window. The Navigator Window shows you all the current locations (i.e. OAARSN web pages and external internet sites) that are relevant to the category of interest. The Navigator Window is identified by the compass symbol:
that appears in the window's top left corner.
The Navigator Window will appear along the right side of your screen and has scroll bars so you may conveniently scroll vertically and horizontally through the window's contents.
Click on the desired location (i.e. link) in the Navigator Window to access the area of interest within our site. After clicking on the desired location, the Navigator Window will close and the location's page will be loaded.
|Tip 4||Images that change from red to blue in colour when you move over them with your mouse are also links to locations. Click on the image to transfer to the target location.|
